During the summer of 2006, I interned at the
Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington. I was
working on structural design for the F22
Program. I was able to complete several weeks
of training on a high-level computer design
software, CATIA, as well as design an actual
part for a specific F22. Going to USC
definitely helped me get this internship,
mainly because of my experiences on the USC
Aero Design Team. Because of the team's
excellent reputation and record, as well as
it's experience with non-conventional
configuration aircraft, I was able to connect
with the manager through my ability to
knowledgably and clearly describe our
intricate design, build, and test processes.
I was also able to perform exceptionally in
Boeing presentations because of the skills I
learned in the Mechoptronics Laboratory and my
experience in design reviews for the Aero
Design Team.
